Timmy Knowles is an Australian recording artist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumental musician, and professional actor. He has performed alongside some of the music industry's biggest names, including Zara Larson, Tove Lo, and Guy Sebastian, to audiences all across the world.
Along with multiple noteworthy career accomplishments, Timmy has one of the most incredible life stories you are likely to hear. In 2004, he left Australia for the shores of Europe. He travelled with nothing but his voice and guitar for the next 10 years. Amongst his numerous unbelievable life-experiences, in January 2009, he was awarded a Commendation of Bravery award from the London Metropolitan Police Service for Outstanding Bravery. Timmy stopped a man from setting himself alight at a petrol station, potentially saving hundreds of innocent people in the process. In July 2011, he was the victim of a traumatic kidnapping. He was held hostage at gunpoint overnight before eventually being released. After the incident, he returned to Australia and restarted his life and career.
In 2016, Timmy Knowles successfully auditioned for The X Factor Australia in front of judges Iggy Azalea, Adam Lambert and Guy Sebastian. After surviving several more broadcasted auditions, he made the top 9 and performed in the live finals, mentored by Guy Sebastian in the over 22's category. During the show, he made international headlines when the media focused on his relationship with recently-single rap-star, Iggy Azalea.
Timmy Knowles was born in Moonee Ponds, a suburb 7km northwest of Melbourne's central business district. His family moved to Sunbury, Victoria shortly after he was born, before returning to the northwestern suburbs in the early nineties. He is the youngest of five children.
He attended Essendon Primary School, where he excelled in the arts and studied multiple musical disciplines. He received music tuition in piano, violin, and percussion before, at age eight, commencing guitar tuition due to a lack of instruments at the school.
By age ten, he was a multi-instrumentalist, regularly performing publicly in bands and orchestras while at the same time writing and performing his own original material. He also excelled in story writing and illustrating, winning multiple arts awards and attending extracurricular classes for gifted young creatives.
In 2006, while living in Surrey, England, Timmy and his older brother Jeremy began performing as a duo at The Running Mare Public House, where they both lived and worked at the time. Soon after, he was a solo artist performing full time in venues all over London and Southeast England.
In 2012, Timmy was hired by a major British travel company to perform in 5-star resorts in Europe and the Middle East. During this time, he lived and performed to audiences in numerous countries, including Spain, Greece, and Egypt.
When he returned to Australia in 2013, Timmy immediately immersed himself in Melbourne’s live music scene, performing up to 7 days a week at venues all across the country.
In 2016, he successfully auditioned for The X Factor Australia in front of judges Iggy Azalea, Adam Lambert and Guy Sebastian. After surviving several more broadcasted auditions, he made the top 9 and performed in the live finals, mentored by Guy Sebastian in the over 22's category. During the show, Timmy made international headlines when he and recently-single Azalea openly flirted during the judges' post-performance comments.

Timmy did some minor dramatic work during his time in Europe. However, he did not fully commit to acting until returning to Australia in 2014. Once back, he was hired for multiple roles in major Australian television commercials, and soon began auditioning for roles in major Australian and International productions on television and stage.
In 2014, he began studying drama under the mentorship of award-winning theatre practitioner Peta Hanrahan at Melbourne’s Verve Studios. Timmy graduated in late 2016 after three years of study.
During his years of drama studies, Timmy was cast in multiple independent theatre productions around Melbourne, at the same time appearing in a large number of Australian and International television commercials.
Timmy is currently represented by Australian acting agency Williams Management.
He is a proud member of MEAA, Australia's Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance.
Timmy first started modelling while living in London. He appeared in several campaigns during that time for both small scale projects and some larger brands.
In 2014, while living back in Australia, he secured large volumes of commercial work for several major Australian and International brands, including Honda, Mazda, Black Magic, Hoyts, and Brown Brothers. By 2015, Timmy had cemented himself as one of the most consistently hired models in the game.
In 2015, he was made a brand ambassador for Australian menswear company OTAA Menswear.
